We’ve finally got round to adding some test paradata into the MIMAS Learning Registry node. We took some usage data from one of the CORE-Materials collections in Jorum, the metadata for which had already been added. The function obtain?request_ID neatly returns all metadata and paradata documents for the given URI, which is exactly what we’ll require for our user interface.
One of the key objectives of ENGrich will be to take URLs returned by Google CSE and interrogate the Learning Registry (LR) to obtain extra metadata and paradata (usage data) relating to these results. We have been working on a test page that allows us to search the LR by a by entering a URL into a search field. It then parses and displays some of the returned data. To save wasting time searching for URLs that are not present in the LR, we’ve provided a list of some to try. Still early days, but a step in the right direction!
